How braces work

Small brackets bonded to each tooth carry a thin archwire that applies gentle, continuous pressure. Visit by visit the wire is adjusted and your teeth follow it into alignment: crowding unwinds, gaps close and the bite settles into place.

The right starting age surprises many parents. We like a first orthodontic look around age seven or eight, when guiding jaw growth is still easy. But there is no upper limit. Healthy teeth move at any age, and adult treatment is routine here.

We like to assess kids around age seven or eight, when guiding growth is easiest. But braces work at any age, and adult treatment is completely routine here.

Usually 12 to 24 months depending on the case. You get an honest range up front and progress updates at every adjustment.

Teeth feel tender for a few days after fitting and after adjustments. Soft foods and over-the-counter pain relief cover it comfortably.

Cost depends on case length, and many plans include orthodontic coverage for children and sometimes adults. Written quote, direct billing, monthly plans. The usual honesty applies.
