Dental Crowns in Vaughan

A crown is a custom-made cap that restores a damaged tooth to full strength and natural shape, matched in shade so precisely that even you will forget which tooth it is. It is how a cracked, worn or root-canaled tooth gets its life back.

Ceramic dental crowns
Strength you can chew on
A crown wraps the whole tooth in a protective shell, restoring close to full biting strength where a filling would crumble.
Invisible by design
Modern ceramics mimic the translucency of natural enamel. Shade-matched to its neighbours, a crown simply disappears into your smile.
A decade or more of service
With normal brushing, flossing and checkups, crowns routinely last 10 to 15 years and often far longer.

When a crown is the right fix

Fillings repair small and medium damage, but when too little healthy tooth remains, a filling has nothing solid to hold onto. A crown solves this by covering the entire tooth above the gumline, spreading chewing forces across the whole surface instead of concentrating them on a weak point.

The classic cases: a cracked or fractured tooth, a large old filling breaking down, a tooth worn flat by grinding, or a back tooth after root canal therapy. Cosmetic cases count too. A crown can rescue the shape and shade of a front tooth that has always bothered you.

A crown may be right for you if
A tooth is cracked, chipped or badly worn
A large, old filling is breaking down
You have just had a root canal on a back tooth
Grinding has flattened or weakened a tooth
A tooth's shape or colour bothers you when you smile

1
STEP 01
Assessment
We confirm a crown is genuinely the right fix, and tell you plainly if a filling would do the job instead.
2
STEP 02
Preparation
The tooth is shaped under local anesthetic and a precise impression is taken. A temporary crown protects it in the meantime.
3
STEP 03
Crafting
Your crown is custom made and shade-matched to blend with your natural teeth.
4
STEP 04
Fitting
The crown is bonded in place and the bite fine-tuned. Two visits, start to finish.

Cost & coverage, in plain language

Many insurance plans cover part of this treatment, and we bill them directly so you only pay the difference. You get a written quote before you decide anything, and flexible monthly payment plans can spread the rest. You will know the price before you say yes to anything.

Your questions, answered honestly

Typically 10 to 15 years, and often far longer with good brushing, flossing and regular checkups. The habits that protect your natural teeth protect your crown.
Yes. Shade and shape are matched to your smile, and modern ceramics carry the same translucency as enamel. Most people cannot spot their own crown after a month.
It comes down to how much healthy tooth remains. If a filling has enough to anchor to, we say so. If it would just crumble under chewing force, a crown protects what is left. Either way, you see the reasoning on your own X-ray.
The tooth is fully numbed for preparation, and fitting the final crown usually needs no anesthetic at all. Some sensitivity for a few days afterwards is normal.
Many insurance plans cover a significant portion, and CDCP covers crowns in certain situations. We check your exact coverage first and bill the plan directly.
Brush and floss like it is a natural tooth, and keep your checkup rhythm. The one habit to drop: chewing ice and pens, which crack crowns and natural teeth alike.
