What counts as a dental emergency

Severe or worsening tooth pain, a knocked-out or broken tooth, swelling of the gum, cheek or jaw, an abscess, bleeding that will not stop, a lost crown exposing a sensitive tooth. All of these deserve a same-day call. Dental infections do not wait politely; they escalate.

One critical exception: facial swelling that affects your eye or your breathing, or swelling with fever, belongs in a hospital emergency room immediately. For everything else, call us first. A few minutes on the phone usually saves hours of worry.
